Award time

I've never met Mr. Jim Pearson, but he was nice enough to include this blog as part of his Thinking Blogger Awards. Many thanks, kind sir! So now I must do my duty and name 5 other "thinking" blogs--basically an excuse to give props to some of my favorite sites as of late. Now I can name drop... here goes:

Adam Rex An amazing illustrator and author, Adam's work is appealing on so many levels. If you don't have Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich already, get it now! I promise you won't be disappointed.

Jason Seiler Mr. Seiler has that enviable combo of being able to get spot-on caricature combined with a truly stunning painting ability. Be sure to watch the YouTube paint of Darth Lucas for proof. Excellent work!

Florian Satzinger Many ducks and all sorts of imaginative contraptions reside here. Really great shapes combined with some impossibly fun machinery. He updates like a maniac too, so watch out!

Sarah Mensinga
If you're looking for drawings, paintings and stories with loads of appeal, look no further. The various pixies, fairies and mermaids she draws are graceful and charming.

The Amazing Parpan Bros. (Justin& Josh).
OK, so technically this would be 6 awards, but who's really counting? I don't know what's in the water where these guys grew up, but they need to bottle it. Each one of them has such a unique take on things. All sorts of cool creatures, wonderfully realized. They're running an outfit called Goblin Fish Press right now chock full of freaky goodness.
