John Wilkes Booth

I recently read a terrific book called Manhunt:The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer. They had some great old newspaper clips & wanted posters in there too. This one's an attempt to mimic that ol' timey style.

and it's surprising and nice to see you drawing a quite "normal" character! ;-) I dig the hair, the look and the moustache you gave to him.. oh! sorry for my ignorance about your history but it's a real character! lol! you did him really well...

  7. Nice work. The "tone" of it has a really nice feel. How they always had that odd separation of light and dark. Nice textural effect, too.

  14. Really nice. I love how this is monochromatic in some ways, but still there are all these little subtle washes in there. Sweet.

Do you use a Cintiq, a Wacom, or a pencil for your sketches?

  19. This is amazing. If they ever trace some stuff back to me and a "wanted" poster becomes neccessary, I hope you're the one who paints it. You handled this one perfectly.

  27. Oh this is very tasty! I just saw a book on the same subject... it's question was "why did Lincoln have to be killed?" When I get some time, I want to read the book... we need more conspiracy theories:)))
Anyway this is a better illo than any in the book!
