I recently read a terrific book called Manhunt:The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer. They had some great old newspaper clips & wanted posters in there too. This one's an attempt to mimic that ol' timey style.
great job Ryan!! this is incredible!! looks old enough to me! ^^ and it's surprising and nice to see you drawing a quite "normal" character! ;-) I dig the hair, the look and the moustache you gave to him.. oh! sorry for my ignorance about your history but it's a real character! lol! you did him really well... so Ryan, you're also a great portraitist... great job, man!
This is amazing. If they ever trace some stuff back to me and a "wanted" poster becomes neccessary, I hope you're the one who paints it. You handled this one perfectly.
Oh this is very tasty! I just saw a book on the same subject... it's question was "why did Lincoln have to be killed?" When I get some time, I want to read the book... we need more conspiracy theories:))) Anyway this is a better illo than any in the book!

Nice work. The "tone" of it has a really nice feel. How they always had that odd separation of light and dark. Nice textural effect, too.
Love this Ryan I don't think I have ever seen you do something like this before. Great!!
Very nicely painted You did a great job with the face but kept it relatively simple.
Very very cool. Keep it up!
That's awesome man! I think you captured that look really well.
holy shit you are talented!
Really nice. I love how this is monochromatic in some ways, but still there are all these little subtle washes in there. Sweet.
Terrific as always.
Do you use a Cintiq, a Wacom, or a pencil for your sketches?
Flawless, Ryan! I don't think you could have done this any better!
