Hessian

Another painting continuing the funny-facial-hair-goofy-hat theme. I was watching a show about the American revolution and they were describing these German mercenaries that the British used called Hessians. I loved the description of them fighting, how the Americans reacted to the strangeness of their conehead-type helmets w/bizzare moustache thang. Yet they were taken off-guard with how brutal and savage the Hessians actually were.

Hi Ryan!

This is a great picture. Wonderful color palette. Is this done in Painter?

A friend of mine is a real Hessian. He hasn't got a moustache, but he can be really nasty too ;)

I subscribed your blog - so keep the stuff coming!

Cheers from Germany,

Oliver

Oliver, I really thought ALL Hessians had moustaches, to add a little extra intimidation. Crap.
