B&W Ben

Inspired by a neat picture book I found at Barnes&Noble for ten bucks. It's full of faux reproductions of historical documents. If you like that sorta thing.

Great portrait! The way you handle value is always inspiring to me. I think we need to do this sort of thing for an Avalanche challenge.

This is incredible, man. I've always dreamed of having a hairdo like old Ben's.

The likeness is great... in fact, as long as you're into faux reproductions... might as well make this beauty into a hundred dollar bill. I doubt the authorities are fans of faux reproductions, but it's worth a shot... because this looks better than the "Ben" on the actual bills... from what I've heard. I've never seen one, but I've heard tales.

The best part is to imagine how do you do theese drawings. Seems real simple and must be for you, but a real mystery for me. A great portrait of Ben.

Great job blending both traditional and digital techniques! (At least the sketch looks traditional- you never know with painter now . . .) I like how you allowed the original drawing to show through.

Yes, it's nice to see just a touch of your drawing thru here and there. He's totally thinking holding back from making some smart-ass cynical comment about someone but refraining.

If all you have to do is invent electricity to have a book written about you, than sign me up.

Also good value here.

So interesting to see this side by side with the inspiration. I like how you changed the lighting a little and exaggerated things slightly. Really cool.
