Annie O.

Been continuing the Western themes lately, this one's based on an old portrait of sharpshooter Annie Oakley.

Yey!
great portrait once again, Ryan!
still outstanding textures and skin tones!
i dig the ornemental stuffs surrounding her, it gives something quite mystical to the character.
well done, for a change... ;-)

can't get enough of these Western images you have been doing. I like that they have the 'feel' of a wanted poster, yet much prettier. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I love your work, but I hadn't been to your blog in a while. When I started to scroll through all your posts, I was kicking myself for not stopping by more often.

I love what you are doing with the Wild West paintings. These are all digital, right?

real solid dude. Not easy when there's very few huge changes of value on the face. This is masterful drawing!

love the scroll work around the edges and of course I dig the rough, antiqued look of the whole piece.

Beautiful. You get some great colors and textures in there. Awesome portrait too. Are these for a series or just for fun?

Ryan Wood said...

Thanks for the nice words, Shawn. Right now I'm just doing these for fun, not really part of a series or anything.

My grandmother saw Annie Oakley and my mom saw the daughter of Calamity Jane.

I too love your western things...along with everything else you do!
