In a way, it reminds me some sketches by Andre Franquin (www.franquin.com), maybe his work should interest you Ryan, the site is quite messy but I'll send you a few interesting scans if you need it.

He is very cool. I doubt I could keep him out of my trashcan with anything short of a Claymore.
Great character, Ryan. I love the little eyes... they make him look kind of nice, even though he could probably rip me in half.
I hope that Alf, the raccoon, and Captain Caveman just got stuck together in a teleportation device and had their matter scrambled... because if they "got together" in any other way... well, I'm glad THAT's not the sketch you gave us.
I'm not sure if you've noticed, but your blog keeps getting cooler and cooler.
